We also confirmed yesterday that Elsie is going to have a little SISTER! Our official due date is still December 30th, so we are right on the edge of a 2012/2013 baby. Via ultrasound, she appears to be healthy (and happy) and has a very strong, clear heartbeat :) One thing about modern obstetrics that I am a sucker for is ultrasounds. It is questionable if ultrasound waves are safe for the baby, but I love every glimpse I can get of our growing, mini person. I think it's very cool! We will have our next and final ultrasound at 36 weeks.
So far, this pregnancy has been very easy. For about 2 weeks in the beginning I had days where I felt crummy, but those days quickly faded and it has been smooth sailing. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way; it was about this time during my pregnancy with Elsie that sleeping became an issue. One weird thing about this pregnancy is that I have an aversion to pasta salad, which I usually love. I have felt the baby move a lot in the past couple weeks and Will has been able to feel her move, too. Occasionally, we can see those random thumps if I am lying still.
Again, we are planning a natural birth at Bethesda North Hospital. Hopefully, their labor and delivery room renovations will be complete! We will soon be going to a few Bradley Method classes as refreshers. I have also been reading a few books on positions for labor and delivery and relaxation. With that, I will also be doing prenatal yoga again - which I love and look forward to each week! I know many people who have had successful natural births using the hypnobirth method, so I am going to look into that technique as well. I know it sounds crazy, but I can't wait for this second birth experience!
I don't know why these are sideways, so tilt your head to the right for now :)
